Beautiful Legend
There was a beautiful legend among the Bulang people related to this tea:
Coming from the south were the seventh princesses summoned by King Jinghong Tai of Mengmeng. She was beautiful, kind, hardworking, and brave, and was the embodiment of the beauty and wisdom of the Thai people in the dam. For the peace and friendship between the Bulang tribe and the Thai tribe, she gave up the paradise-like life in the palace, went up the mountain to form a connection with the Bulang people of Bayanleng, and jointly created a new era of Bulang society.Nanfalai not only taught the Bulang people to dig terraces to plant rice, but also brought technology for large-scale artificial tea planting, which enabled the Bulang people to enter a civilized society from covering themselves with tree bark. The later tea culture was first initiated by the Brown people.
And Nanfalai (the seventh princess) was honored by the Bulang people as the "mother of the tribe", that is, the "mother of tea". (The Cambodian Khmer people are another branch of the Bulang people, and have also made great contributions to world civilization - they created the world-famous Angkor culture). "Moonlight White" tea is the best tea selected by the Brown people from among many fine teas to pay tribute to the royal family. It is praised by the people as being as holy and noble as the "Seven Princesses" and is the embodiment of the beauty of the "Seven Princesses".
- Moonlight Beauty hails from Yunnan Province, China. It is made from the buds & leaves of the Menghai Big Leaf Cultivar (similar to Puerh) and according to folklore, was harvested by beautiful young women in the nighttime, to minimize exposure to the sun.
- Moonlight Beauty is prepared in a similar manner to Fuding White Tea; however, it has a much stronger and more robust taste than white tea, due to its cultivar. The fragrance is sweet, and the taste and body of the tea is much more similar to black tea. It is truly a unique tea!
- The Moonlight Beauty tea brews a golden yellow tea soup that is thick, full-bodied with a creamy viscous mouth-feel. The Moonlight Beauty tea is sweet like sugarcane with hints of wheatgrass. There a bit more vegetal character to this tea as compared to the Silver Needles White, giving this tea a bit more depth. This tea can be brewed 6 to 8 times gong fu style.
