Linglong porcelain is a treasure of the ancient ceramic arts. During the engraving process on the porcelain body, many regular “exquisite eyes” are carved out. After being fired with glaze, these holes then become translucent and bright, a beautiful feature called “glass-stamped porcelain.”
- Because the original meaning of “Linglong” is dexterity and clarity, it is very accurate to call this kind of porcelain Linglong. Linglong porcelain also has a long history: it is one of the four famous traditional porcelains in Jingdezhen. Linglong porcelain is often matched with blue and white patterns; called “blue-and-white exquisite porcelain.” This kind of porcelain displays the fine art of Chinese carving. It is simple and fresh. Combining superb firing skills and exquisite artistry, Linglong porcelain fully reflects the ingenuity and creativity of the ancients.
- The Linglong Blue and White Sancai Gaiwan is carved with "Linglong Eye" on the body and filled with translucent glaze. It is delicate, elegant, exquisite and translucent, and is often paired with blue and white patterns, which is called blue and white Linglong porcelain. Linglong porcelain has both the art of openwork and the characteristics of blue and white. It is both simple and fresh, combining superb firing techniques and exquisite carving art.
- This Linglong Blue and White Underglaze Red is crafted from fine blue and white porcelain, also known as Qinghua Linglong. It features intricate designs with a combination of delicate blue patterns and transparent "linglong" or "rice grain" elements, where small holes are filled with a translucent glaze, creating a lace-like effect. This traditional Chinese Linglong Blue and White is celebrated for its elegance and craftsmanship, making it a high-end choice for tea enthusiasts and collectors.
- Linglong Blue and White underglaze red combines the blue and white and underglaze red techniques. Cobalt is used to paint blue and white, and copper red is used to paint patterns on the porcelain blank. After glazing, it is fired once at high temperature to present an artistic effect of blue and red contrasting with each other. It is a traditional Chinese precious porcelain decoration technique.
- Like small windows, then they are pasted with special transparent glaze, just like paper on windows; then the whole body is glazed, and after firing, the carved areas are clear and bright. This kind of light-transmitting rice-like holes is called "rice flower"; the hollow part is not glazed, also called Linglong.
- Today, savoring the beauty of ancient exquisiteness and the charm of finely crafted porcelain art is also a tribute to the wisdom of the ancients. In each transparent hole, we glimpse the beauty of light and shadow, as well as the beauty of history.
