Description

Zhi Ye Cup — Handmade Jingdezhen Ceramic Tea Cup

A small handmade tea cup with the character of Jingdezhen ceramics.

The Zhi Ye Cup is individually handmade in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi, one of China’s most renowned ceramic-producing regions. Each cup is unique, with subtle differences in shape, glaze color, and kiln-fired pattern. No two cups are exactly alike.

The distinctive glaze is created through a natural kiln transformation process. During high-temperature firing, changes in temperature inside the kiln cause the mineral glaze to develop different shades, tones, and surface patterns. These variations cannot be precisely controlled by hand—and that is part of the beauty of the Zhi Ye Cup.

Fired at approximately 1320°C, the cup is made from a clay and kaolin ceramic body and finished with a mineral-based glaze. The high firing temperature creates a durable ceramic surface while allowing the glaze to develop its individual character.

With a 130 ml capacity, the Zhi Ye Cup is well suited to Gongfu tea, allowing you to appreciate the color, aroma, and character of each infusion.
